How do I turn an idea into a script?
From your ideas, pick the idea and choose "convert to script". A new script is created carrying the idea's title, score, project, series and tags, the idea text becomes its first content card, and the idea moves to the "converted" state. Converting is safe to repeat: converting the same idea again opens the same script rather than making a second one.
How to convert
Open your ideas and choose convert to script on the idea.
What comes with it
The new script inherits from the idea:
- The title. If the idea has no title, one is taken from the start of its text.
- The score from 1 to 10, if you set one.
- The project, series and episode number, if it had them.
- All of its tags.
- The idea text, which becomes the first content card of the script.
So you do not start from an empty page: what you wrote as an idea is already the first section to build on.
Video type and status
The video type is inferred from the content type attached to the idea: if that points at long-form the script becomes long-form, otherwise short-form. You can change it after converting.
The script status starts at whichever status you named for ideas in your status system, and falls back to your default status if you have not named one.
What if I convert the same idea twice?
Nothing breaks. Converting checks first whether this idea already has a script, and opens that one instead of creating a duplicate.
What happens to the idea?
It stays exactly where it is and only its state changes, to converted. It is not deleted or hidden, and you can still go back to it.
