Can I attach files to an idea?

Yes, and you can attach more than one file to a single idea. The limit is 12 MB per file, and accepted types include images, PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, text, archives, video and audio. The feature is available on every plan including Free. An idea also has a separate cover image, capped at 2 MB.

What you can attach

Open the idea and upload from its files section. Accepted types:

  • Images: jpg, jpeg, png, gif, webp
  • Documents: pdf, doc, docx, xls, xlsx, csv, ppt, pptx, txt, rtf
  • Archives: zip, rar
  • Video: mp4, mov, avi
  • Audio: mp3, wav

The limit is 12 MB per file, and you can upload several at once.

The cover image is separate

As well as attachments, an idea has one cover image that appears with it in the list. That one must be an image, and is capped at 2 MB, smaller than the attachment limit because it is displayed rather than downloaded.

Who can upload

Anyone with permission to edit the idea. If the idea sits in a project you share with your team, whoever can edit there can upload here too.
