How do I track my monthly subscriptions?

Log every subscription you pay for, such as editing software, music and hosting, with its amount, currency, billing cycle and renewal date. Bardiyah works out your total monthly cost by normalising the different cycles, and reminds you a chosen number of days before each renewal. This section is for subscriptions to other services and has nothing to do with your own Bardiyah plan.

This is not your Bardiyah plan

First things first: this section tracks subscriptions you pay to other services. Your own Bardiyah plan lives on the billing page and is an entirely different thing.

What a subscription needs

From subscriptions, add one. Required:

  1. A name.
  2. The amount and currency.
  3. The billing cycle.
  4. The renewal date.
  5. A status.
  6. How many days before renewal to remind you.

Optional: a category, a payment method, and notes.

The five billing cycles

Monthly · Quarterly · Yearly · One time · Custom

The four statuses

Active · Paused · Canceled · Expired

Normalised monthly cost

This is the section's most useful number. Bardiyah normalises the different cycles to work out what you actually pay per month: a yearly subscription is divided down, and so is a quarterly one.

You get one figure for what your tools cost you every month, and it surprises most people the first time they see it.

Renewal reminders

You choose how many days before a renewal to be reminded, up to 365. The Life OS overview shows what renews in the next thirty days.

The purpose is plain: to decide whether to renew before the money leaves, not after.
