How do I track a habit?
Create a habit with a name, a frequency and a target count from 1 to 100. Frequency is daily, weekly, monthly or custom. Logging what you do builds a streak, and the Life OS overview shows the sum of your active streaks. A habit can be deactivated rather than deleted if you stop for a while. Free allows three habits and Creator twenty.
What a habit needs
From habits, create one. Required:
- A name.
- A frequency.
- A target count, from 1 to 100.
Optional: a description, a colour, and whether it is active.
The four frequencies
Daily · Weekly · Monthly · Custom
The target count
This is how many times within that period. "Three times a week" is a weekly habit with a target of three.
It matters because realistic habits are rarely daily. "Write every day" breaks in the first busy week; "write three times a week" survives it.
Streaks
Every time you log the habit, the streak grows. The Life OS overview shows the sum of your active streaks as a single figure.
Deactivate rather than delete
A habit you have stopped can be switched off instead of deleted, so it leaves your active figures while its history stays. That is better than deleting: a habit you dropped for a month and came back to is not a new habit.
