What does connecting Facebook and Instagram do?
Connecting a Facebook or Instagram account lets Bardiyah read a post's numbers from its URL and put them into a performance record instead of you copying them by hand. The connection is read-only: Bardiyah cannot publish, edit or delete anything on either account. Access tokens are stored encrypted, and you can disconnect whenever you like.
What connecting does
It lets Bardiyah read a post's numbers from its URL, on Instagram or on a Facebook page, so those figures land in a performance record without you copying them across.
What it does not do
This section matters more than the one above:
- It does not publish. Bardiyah cannot post or upload video to either account.
- It does not edit or delete anything you have published.
- It does not read your private messages.
The connection is read-only, and its reach is whatever you grant when you connect.
Security
Access tokens are stored encrypted in the database, and the access token is kept with its expiry date. You can disconnect the account at any time from settings.
If you never connect
Nothing stops working. Performance records function fully without a connection; you type the numbers and notes yourself. Connecting removes a copying step, it is not a requirement of the feature.
