How do I create a quotation for a client?
Create a quotation with its type, simple or proposal, plus the client name, the currency and a status. Optional: a title, the client's email and phone, a project, a discount as a fixed amount or a percentage, and a tax percentage. A simple quote is for straightforward pricing; a proposal is for work that needs explaining before it is priced. Free allows three quotations and the paid plans have no limit.
What is required
From quotations, create one:
- The type: simple or proposal.
- The client name.
- The currency.
- A status.
Simple or proposal?
- Simple: a number and line items. Right when the client knows what they want and needs the price.
- Proposal: carries text from a template you choose, explaining the work before naming its price. Right for work that sells on the explanation rather than the figure.
Discount and tax
A discount is either a fixed amount or a percentage; tax is a percentage. Both are optional.
The four statuses
- Draft: you are working on it.
- Sent: it is with the client.
- Approved: they accepted.
- Rejected: they declined.
The last two are set automatically when the client decides from the share link, so you do not move them by hand.
