How do I plan a shoot day?
Create a shoot day with a title and a date, then attach what it needs: filming locations, equipment, storyboard shots, and the script and project it belongs to. The point is that everything the day requires ends up on one page you open on the morning of the shoot, rather than scattered across messages. Free allows three shoot days and Creator ten.
Creating the day
From the shoot day planner, create a new day. Two things are required:
- A title for the day.
- The shoot date.
What attaches to it
This is where the value is. A shoot day gathers:
- Filming locations you are shooting at.
- Equipment you are taking.
- Storyboard shots you are covering.
- The script and project the day belongs to.
Why one page
Because the morning of a shoot is not the time to go looking. With the location on a map, the kit in a list and the shots in order, you open one page instead of assembling the day from chats, notes and old messages.
And when something is missing, it is missing visibly: a kit list with a gap in it beats a kit list in your head.
