What is a storyboard, and which type should I pick?

Requires Creator See plans

Bardiyah has three storyboard types: basic for quick planning, advanced for more detail per shot, and cinematic for working in scenes with shots inside them. You choose the type when creating the board. Storyboards are not included on the Free plan and start at Creator. Free allows one board, Creator ten, and Pro and Studio have no limit.

The three types

You pick the type when creating the board:

  • Basic: order your shots quickly, without much detail.
  • Advanced: when each shot needs more description than a line.
  • Cinematic: works in scenes, each holding its own shots. Suits work built scene by scene rather than shot by shot.

Which to choose

The practical rule: start with the simplest that works. Basic is enough for most single-channel videos. Cinematic earns its overhead when the piece genuinely has scenes, rather than a sequence of shots.

A board more detailed than you need is a board abandoned after day one.

Attaching to a shoot day

Storyboard shots attach to a shoot day, turning the day's plan into a shot list you work through in order instead of remembering.
