How do I use the teleprompter while filming?
Open a script in the app and start teleprompter mode. The text scrolls at a speed you set from a quarter to five times, at a font size between 16 and 72, and can be mirrored for anyone using a teleprompter rig. It starts with a countdown so you can get ready. The teleprompter is in the app only and has no equivalent on the website.
Starting teleprompter mode
Open the script in the app and start the teleprompter. Your cards are shown in order, scrolling in front of you.
The three settings
- Scroll speed: from 0.25 to 5, default 1. A quarter suits a slow, deliberate read; five is for reviewing a script, not filming to it.
- Font size: from 16 to 72, default 32. The further the phone sits from you, the larger it needs to be.
- Mirroring: for filming through a teleprompter rig, where the text is reflected and needs to be flipped to read correctly.
Your settings are saved, so you do not set them again each time.
The countdown
The teleprompter starts with a short countdown before the text moves, giving you time to set the phone down, breathe, and look at the lens.
One practical tip
Set the speed against a short section first. The right speed is the one that lets you read at your normal pace, not the script's. If you find yourself rushing to keep up, lower the speed rather than speeding up your delivery.
App only
There is no teleprompter mode on the website.
